It felt like Top Gear after hours, May and Hammond were like different people... almost as if BBC had been holding them back and giving clarkson the good one liners etc...

I loved it.

Watched the Grand Tour tonight. Found it disappointing; self indulgent and consequently boring. I fast forwarded through much of the section where they were playing with guns.

Hmm even without Chris Evans its still dull and lacking the entertainment that was the Clarkson 3. Dull friends bloke needs replacing asap. Thank goodness for The Grand Tour

I enjoyed that episode and think the show is all the better without the tool that is chris evans! lol, but then that's just my opinion.

Interestingly I prefer this new new top gear to GT, found some bits a real pain to get through, brain game etc.

Worked much better without Evans

I don't mind Chris Evans. Watched him this evening and he was fine as Flame Man bloke in Fantastic Four, but I'll admit he's a bit too earnest as Captain America.

Agreed there - although I still don't see the point of having celebrity guests that have no interest in cars - waste of time IMO

There was an England One Day International on at the same time, which I'm surprised Chris didn't have on, and I'd rather watch Root and Woakes over boring LeBlanc any day. I saw the last 3 minutes of Top Gear and it all seemed a bit flat.
