I presume you are after 'stiffer' rear? if so the only ones that will do you any good are the - 636 and the ZX10R ones. The 636 is a coupla mm longer, so will raise the rear that little bit more than teh ZX10R.
The GSXR's have softer springs. I have a B1 shock in my trackbike and shorter dogbones, you might want to consider them too. |

Ok, lets give you a background.
I know bugger all about shocks hence the mass of questions recently. The back end of my bike feels very unstble in corners and doesn't feel planted. I get so far down in a bend and then have to raise back up as the rear feels too unstable. It's the damping seems to be the biggest problem. The ride height isn't a problem as i can flat foot both sides and bend my knees at the minute. Dog bonnes are easily available so i'm not worried about that. I Weight 10.5 stone and take a pillion once or twice a week at most. I don't ride near my limits with a pillion so i'm happy to sacrifice the two setup for a better solo ride. I've been told i may be better with the SRAD given my weight and riding style. Any comments more than welcome |

Kwak shocks tend to be quite hard,especially for your wieght,so SRAD ones may be better.Trouble is they are all really old now so getting a good one may be tricky.Is your existing shock too soft or just knackered?Have you checked your linkages and swingarm bearings for wear?Most important---Have you uprated your foek springs,as I find that having a good front end is more important than the rear.

Stormspiel - this list is great (I used it and decided on a 636 shock!), they all fit the SV, make your own choice on the spring rate and length. <Swiped> The spring rate list copyright Lukemillar (or he posted it in my thread) YEAR MOTORCYCLE LENGTH SPRING ===== ========= ===== ===== 00-03 GSXR750 325mm 400# 01-03 GSXR600 325.5mm 325# 01-02 GSXR1000 329.5mm 430# 03-04 SV650 330mm 430# <<<==== stock 2nd gen...05 should be the same 99-03 GSXR1300(Busa) 330mm 700# 04 GSXR750 332.5mm 408# 04 GSXR600 332.5mm 425# 03-04 GSXR1000 332.5mm 480# 99-02 SV650 337mm 510# <<<====stock 1st gen 04 ZX10R 338mm 540# 03-04 ZX6R(636) 340mm 540# *corrected by e lo...thanks! 96-99 GSXR750 345mm 375# 97-00 GSXR600 375mm 375# 05 GSX-R 1000 332.5mm 450# <<<===added by me...spring rate from racetech.com, length from ohlins.com <end> .............. ............ |

I got 636 shock at 334 not 340. Doesn't make a huge difference though 6mm.
I'd recommend that shorter dog bones are fitted anyway as my hugger fouls my undertray. |
