It benefits no one in the UK but Hey that the government for you.

Charity begins at home. How about we spend some of the aid money on job creation for the kids.

Also aid encourages countries to become dependent instead of working their own way out of poverty

and don't get me going either - esp when I'm working on unintentional injury in the under 5's with illiterate parents (increases threefold for home)

Money has to be given to undeserving foreigners, so that they can become educated enough to do work previously done in the UK, only for cheaper!

Without a doubt some foreign aid shouldn't be sent abroad but just to clarify where/how the majority of aid is spent.

When the Govt says its increasing foreign aid to x country what it is actually doing is circumventing E.U. laws on subsidising our own industries. The money doesn't go to directly to the country it is earmarked for it goes to the company thats making the, e.g. turbines for the hydro electric project or the construction company thats building a hospital there.

The Daily Rags love to stoke the fires and say the Govt is sending money abroad when we should be spending it at home when in fact the Govt is actually spending a lot of that foreign aid money at home, albeit via the backdoor. Simples

I enjoyed the time I spent in the sun at Pergau. indirect subsidising of British industry! Now lets see who was the prime contractor (Turbines and C&I were subcontract, so we were only indirectly funded). That's right Cementation. Now didn't a certain prime minister have a coup funding son who worked for them?

Blimey, it was only the other day that they amnounced less countries would be getting aid...so instead of banking that 'unspent' money they're going to increase donations to the revised shortlist...have I got that right?
