Clutch Problem? Cutting off when releasing clutch in first gear! - SV650.org

Hi,

I have a 2000 SV650s and I'm quite new to biking. The problem I am having is after stating the bike and putting it into first gear, once I release the clutch the bike cuts off, any help would be appericated?

Are you giving it enough revs? Obvious but I've done it enough times.

also your cable may need adjusting

Yup, tried it giving it plenty of revs! Problem still there.

Nope the sidestand is up!

My mate had a GPZ500 with the exact same trouble. We fixed it by changing the sidestand switch

Is there anyway of testing if it is the sidestand switch?
