If he was the greatest he wouldn't have fallen off at Valencia

Rossi is a p*ssy.
When he wins a few TT's we can start discussing whether he is more of a man than Mike the Bike. |

Rather odd question and dubious basis for a poll in my opinion. Valentino Rossi is for sure an extremely talented motorcycle racer and a one off character. The greatest of all time? Who knows? It is very difficult to compare with brilliant riders from other era's and no correct answer can be given to that.
As good as Valentino is I am presently pondering whether in fact his record may now begin to indicate that his best days have now gone? Maybe not of course but there are several other riders who have not reached their peak yet and have shown that they can push Rossi already, not beat him perhaps but certainly test him. As they improve can Valentino take his skills to greater heights still than have been needed before? I think many on this forum misread my view of Valentino entirely. I am though willing to step out of the loop when discussing him. |

Nah, he is still a puppy. To be the greatest of all time he has to beat the records of the likes of Giacomo Agostini. I reckon the Camila's legendary Uncle Edgar could would give Rossi a riding lesson on the island. However Joey Dunlops island record will never be beaten

I think there is more to it than the actual racing.
It is also the ability to ride a bike for 10 laps, then get back to the engineers and say "well on this corner, on this lap, this happened" which they can match up to the telemetry and so do something about it. The great F1 drivers (Senna, Schumacher etc) could all do it, hence their results. The also-rans such as Mansell couldn't. Not that I'm really qualified, but I do think VR is good. |
