Fuel Exhaust

To buy or not to buy?

I am looking at a fuel exhaust for my 05 plate 650SV S. I cannot decide wether I should buy one or not. I know that people on here are happy with them but other than the sound (which I won't know if it is any better or I like it until I buy it) I fail to see what other advantages there are if any.

If I do get one then I would like to get one before the end of the month when they end their sale.

Any information that you can give me to advise one way or another would be great.

I'm not really sure what actual advantages fitting any after-market can has, but it didn't stop me from getting one. I got my Fuel from the NEC show and what decided it for me was they cost FA compared to others on the market, they're made really well and look fantastic, definately tidied up the bike compared to that rocket-launcher stock can.

I don't really know if there are any real power gains or not but the bike certainly feels a lot more free running, especially at higher revs. I got the stainless oval and the weight losses were'nt high either but were noticable (not that a few grams here or there will realistically make me any faster).

My advice would be to get it. They really are great cans (biased....me?) and once you hear the sound of a v-twin with a can on you'll just know you need one.

can affect fuelling - I think remaps are worth it

A can on its own wont affect the fueling of your bike much. + you have a pointy so the injection will sort it out anyway.

As to power gains, 1-2bhp max if yer lucky + a bit of torque.

Go for it.........

Got mine for £99 fromthe NEC. FACT - believe the online sale prices are the same.

Erh I dont actually think thats correct. IIRC the pointy FI can be at best described as basic. I dont think it will adjust itself to cope with a different end can. Mind you it probably wont make much difference anyway. Liz has a Remus on her SV and bike rides fine and shes never had the fueling looked at.

Lol - fuel are good value, but still more than the standard can the bike comes with!

if nothing else just buy it for the sound......

you wont be disappointed, go for it
