Default K9 SV650s - Checking Front Brake Fluid Level - on side stand or level?

daft question, sorry

ive changed my brake fluid, all bled and working fine (it seems)

Haynes says front level needs to be in the middle of min and max

is this level whilst bike on side stand or when bike is straight up/level?

Thanks

check it when its level is best, but its not going to matter too much

It should be between the markings when the reservoir lid is level.

What's important, is that the fluid level doesn't dip below the level of the outlet pipe, allowing air to get trapped in the system if it did. There's plenty of height in the reservoir to allow a good head of fluid to keep the port cover at any angle of lean during riding, so even if you did it on the side stand there would be enough fluid in the pot to cover the outlet port. So don't worry too much about it. What you don't want is too much fluid, so that when you level the bike its too high, so doing it on the level is best practice.

Tip:
Once you have the fluid level on level ground.Put the bike on it's side-stand and clean the reservoir right hand side with a bit of brake/clutch cleaner and dry it off with some tissue(I use bog-roll).Now with a good indelible marker pen put a dot at the fluid level. This is your new,"Leaning" level check so you can quickly see if it ever goes low and needs to be addressed
