Although I agree it needs something... perhaps just a little detailing around the colour block edges, as per your mock-up.
Thanks ophic.

Added some white stripes! Bit of an improvement.

I give you my opinion, that is one fantastic build, but I would continue the blue down towards the black so you have a broad white band 4 -5 inch deep, this might reflect the line of the frame, once again fantastic build

Thats lovely.

Adding the additional white stripe in has really helped. Maybe another at the bottom to help the transition to the black?

Funny how the addition of one little stripe really brings it out. That looks a lot better - doesn't have the "something missing" about it anymore and is actually still quite subtle, as in, not over-detailed.

Personally I don't think it needs any more - of course play to your heart's content.

Agreed, its just enough to tie it in with the tank/cowl stripes

Well, firstly, I'm a fair weather rider so spray isn't an issue. And if i get caught in some rain il just have to deal with it i guess!

I'm hoping the mesh will prevent any stones from being thrown up into the engine/exhaust area so that shouldn't be a problem.

Other than those potential issues... it certainly feels no different to ride. And its quite nice seeing the rotation of the tyre in my peripheral!

Bit of an update, but first a fancy pic down a cobbled lane!

Shortly after this i decided to add some yellow tint...

Then i decided the stainless bolts needed to be black...

Then i decided a ride out to Wells was in order

And now I've started working on the next mod... A swingarm mounted shock.

Below are some screen grabs of the mech (still need to add some additional fixings but you get the jist!), along with it shown on the bike. Excuse poorly draw shock, i only did enough to get the dimensions for mech.

This will free up space (where the stock shock location is) to route a 2-2 exhaust up between the rear of the engine and the swingarm.

Exhaust exit like this...

And pics of the mech...

I'm imagining there is some fairly complex physics involved in all the pivot points etc. Looking forward to seeing more!
