I am currently looking at purchasing my first motorcyle. I have completed a MCS course and am seriously considering buying a SV650. I am looking at a new 2003 SV650 for $4995 out the door. The only miles it has are the 10 miles I put on it the other day when test driving it. Does $4995 sound good? And If I do purchase this bike where can I find a Headlight fairing that has a larger sheild than the factory fairing? I saw a picture of an aftermaket bike with a large sheild on one of the links but have no idea where one can be found. Any suggestions or assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks,
John

You could probably do a little better than $4995 for the '03 sv650. I know someone who paid $4639 OTD when the '03s just came out. (not kidding, I've seen his invoice)
So, if the dealer is going to throw in some extras such as gear or helmet or aftermarket goodies, I'd say go for it. Otherwise, see if you can have the stupid freight/set up fees reduced/waived. It looks like a decent deal overall, but do haggle a little. After all, the '05s are on the way and the dealer probably needs to sell the bike asap...

That would be a great buy. I paid $6000 for mine, and I live in California. I don't know if that makes a difference.

Anyway, definitely get the '03 SV650, I have one and I love it. It's the perfect bike in my opinion.

Yeah, bikes are cheaper over the pond as they don't have to be waterproof

(It's raining again )
