Rukka Clothing
Hi,
Has anyone tried the rukka clothing? Went into a store today to get some winter clothing and the salesperson couldn't praise their clothing enough. It has a guarantee for 5 years to be waterproof and if you do have a problem with the garments they'll loan you a replacement whilst its being repaired. Also if you have an off and damage part of the clothing they will repair the damaged panels (for a cost, but surely better then buying new again). Would be interested to know if anyone else uses\has this clothing? Thanks Desh |

Check out the October issue of ride RiDE. The Rukka A-tech suit came 12th out of 14 tested. Tris |

Ride's winner was the Spada Circuit/Podium combo and at £190 all in seemed to win the test (waterproofing, comfort, safety, etc) fairly easily given the price. See here for more details |

I don't have any Rukka kit (couldn't afford it) but one of my Finnish colleagues always swears by it. I was shocked to see it so low in the RiDE review too, but I am sure much of this was because it's soooo expensive (In the UK at least). As my friend buys his stuff in Finland and is shocked to see how much it costs here.
Seems to be well made though, it held up well when he performed a involuntary somersault over the bonnet of a taxi. And the Fins do know a thing or two about keeping warm. I would say for the money there is better stuff, unless you can find somewhere to get it cheap. |

I think that the Rukka stuff is well over pricedand almost every single claim that is made by the sales people could be made about Arlen Ness or the BMW kit which is close to half the price.

Thanks for all the comments. The Spada kit looks really good. The reason for asking the question about the Rukka kit is the 5 year guarantee (as described by the salesperson) seemed exceptional.
However so did the price tag of £1100 for the trousers and jacket. Having read the comments and looking at the Spada kit (Thanks for the Link Jabba) I could renew every year for 5 years instead!!! Thanks Desh |

As the owner of a Rukka jacket I'm about to find out how good their guarantee is. Last week I got one wet arm and wet down the front.
Yes it was a particularly heavy downpoor but my £15 over trowsers kept my legs dry!! I'll let you know what happens. |

I've had the Rukka Air jacket and pants for the last two years and they've been great. I can wear both on hot 95F + days no problem (sans liner). Have worn them in pouring rain and stayed completely dry. I do need to layer up for cold weather. Build quality is quite good.
I live in California where the weather is generally pretty mild, though. Still, the Rukka gear has been great. -g |
