Re: wiring up oxford heated grips
I don't know which wire goes where mate, but as vehicles run on a DC system, i'm pretty sure the control box should have a right and a wrong way round of fitting, as any LED's or other devices will only operate with a voltage in the correct direction. The grip on the other hand is most likely just a heating coil, and so it shouldn't matter which way round this is connected.
My instinct would say connect the red wire from the box to the +ve and white to earth (or -ve terminal), just make sure you have an inline fuse incase its wrong. good luck! |

Re: wiring up oxford heated grips
fine so long as its braided flex and not solid cores.

Re: wiring up oxford heated grips
I had some on an old bike. DO NOT WIRE THEM DIRECTLY TO THE BATTERY! Imagine if you forget to turn them off! OUCH.
So wire the pos into the loom and the neg to the battery so when the ignition is off the heated grips are off... no chance of you forgetting after a long day of work etc. Alternativly get soem heated gloves the grips shouldnt matter which way around they are wired. Only in things with diodes and micro electronices does it matter (im guessing the grips dont have those). But the control box will so take it apart and have a look... if you cant fin the info elseware. http://www.webbikeworld.com/r3/heated-motorcycle-grips/ i had a quick scan on that, it might give you a clue for setup. |
