Fuel Injection problem???

Every now and then I will switch my 04 bike on and it wont make its usual computer whiiiiiiiirrrrrrrr sound and then it flashes up FI at me. I then turn it off, wait a few seconds and turn it back on (sometimes I have to do this many times!!)

Is this a common thing?

Is my fuel injection stuffed or just being a pain?

Check the connections in your kill switch - this sounds the most likely. However, if you've never had it cut out on you while riding then it's a long shot.

Alternatively, there could be a gear position sensor problem - the bike things you're in something other than neutral, and the side-stand is down.


However, the easiest solution is - take it to the dealer - it's still under warranty!

It's an '04 bike, ring the garage up & tell 'em, it's under warranty

Tried the kill switch but that is fine. Also looked at the switch from the stand etc but I cant find anything there.

Just wondered if anyone had had the same random thing??

My K3 does this its the anti hot wire contacts in the ignition switch try some WD40 or simuliar in your switch or wriggle the key whilst turning it.

Have you changed anything on the bike, added something or had something apart?.

Id take it down to a dealer who should be able to get the fault code up and then let you know whats causing the problem.

Rather than 2nd guessing its best to know for sure.

on my tlr it wont do it if you turn the key when its in gear..when you pop it into neutral it does the whirring noise then,
