Default sv650 to sv650 to sv1000 to sv650 to MT-03 Anybody owned one?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUcC7MN_kk8

My bike history goes sv650 to sv650 to sv1000 to sv650 to MT-03 Anybody owned one?

Just put a deposit on a Yamaha MT-03.

What should i expect? Seems quite a rare bike compared to the sv650 and i cant find much info on them

It like this but in green, 2006, 4000 miles, new tyres, and cost me £1700

I know it's no help but I love that bike & was what I actually wanted before getting the SV. Sounds like a bit of a bargain!

I've ridden one a few times, it's alright, a bit lacking in outright power in comparison to an SV and not as the looks would suggest a supermoto of any kind, but they make a decent enough commuter bike and OK for a bit of fun on the back roads, slightly heavier than they look to I thought, easy enough to service though, comparatively rare bike though so if that's your thing It'll fit the bill.

Cheers Mark.

Last week I went with someone and bought an 05 Pegaso, now it has the same engine (XT660 Single) but makes 5 bhp more, might not sound a lot, but it does make a difference, also about 5kg lighter, if I was you I'd belooking to find the extra 5 horses if I could, Oh and the standard pipes on the MT03 are pants, look nice but very disappointing noise.

Cheers Mark.

Oh and as you started with the promo video, here's two that reallt rock (sorry for the derail)

Hi, thanks for the advice and replies so far. Did not thing i would get too many as it does seem quite a rare bike. With regards to the actual bike, Its got the Remus Cans on anyway and they are loud with the baffles in, Its got a tail tidy and a very small screen that are parts that i believe are not standard. Just hope its not going to be a disappointment compared to my sv.

I've put a few miles on one but I'd rather have an SV over an MT-03 any day of the week.

Positives
Handles really well

Negatives
Lacking in power, dash is plasticy, known issue with the revcounter and water ingress, I seem to remember that 90mph is flat out and they dont hold their residuals well.

Look at an ER6 if all you are after is the funky styling.

Ok, cool, was just after the looks and something to commute and a bit of fun really. Any idea how good they are on fuel? Better or worse than the sv650?

I wasn't watching the fuel but I can ask my mates missus tomorrow who's bike it was.

I just used to ride it when we used the swap bikes for a bit of variety on ride outs

Wheelies quite well though but so does the SV

Deffo watch out for that water ingress of 5 people I know who have had MT-03's all 5 had their clocks changed under warranty with this problem.
