It's HMRC gripe time again
Just tried to call them. 9 minutes of automated blather then: "We are experiencing technical issues and are unable to continue with your call, please call again later".
Why is everything in this country falling to bits? (Does it come under: you get the Government you deserve?)

9 minutes, is that all? When I had to deal with them last year the best I got was 35 minutes and more often 45 or so. Things must be getting better!

Yes, only 9 minutes but never got through. I was expecting a 40+ min wait but at least I would have spoken to someone. I wrote a letter instead. If (when) that doesn't generate a response I'll call again in a couple of weeks.

As I was basically self-employed for a lot of my working life me and lads always knew HMRC as the Horrible Monkeys Ripping-off Contractors <grin>
 PS 9 mins is nothing. See my ,"Gripe" with Hastings Insurance!!
