Default Pirelli Diablo Stradas VS Michelin Pilot Road 2's

Been trying to decide which to go for for the past 2 weeks, Now I must choose for tomorrow.
I commute everyday 15-20 miles so need something that will offer good life, but also good for playing on the weekend and the odd track day.

Which would you choose?

Still waiting for some feedback on what Pilot Road 2s are like on track, if ok I'd go for them just for a change! But there is nowt wrong with Stradas.

We've just switched from Diablo's to Pilot Road 2's................and after a 1000 miles can honestly say that we by far and away prefer the Pilot's. Far more confidence inspiring, and so far have handled eveything we've thrown at them without a twitch

They have 7mm deep tread, and after 1000 miles that's down to 6mm..............working on the theory that each mm is 1000 miles of use, it already means we'll get far more miles out of the Pilot's than we have out of Diablo's.

It also means that you get slightly less milage from a rear than I do on my Metzler Z6 Roadtecs.

I love throwing spanners

Yes, but you ride like a Granny! when they ride 2 up, so their comparison is better

It would help to advise if you posted the purchase price of your choices.

I ride like a granny eh? So you're coming to the North Wales ride then?

I also get great fuel economy too

Z6's, where I have them fitted, are approx £115 rear, £95 front, but £200 for a pair. RiRo, usually with a cuppa & a bit of banter thrown in for good measure

I asked about the pilot 2's when I was last there, and he said it'd be about the same price as the Z6s, but no real feedback on performace yet, so I didn't bother.

Thanks Lissa, this backs up all I've been hearing about them. My only concern has been the life span but from what you say they should be OK.

Only £20 difference between the 2, which only added to my confusion.

If it helps we only get 3,200 miles out of our rear Diablo, so the PR 2's hopefully should bet that.
