Default Exhaust join crack

Hi guys,

First of all I am new here so thought i'd start with saying hello, I bought my Sv650 SY in july and must say im in love, have been enjoying the power as i only passed a few days after buying it.

I've had a few minor problems but the big one at the moment is my exhaust; there was a piece of metal on the bit im going to show you in pictures. Long story short the metal snapped off in three bits the last being the bit i removed when cleaning it.

I have done a temporary fix for now but looking on getting a tried and testing fix if possible. anyway ill pop a picture of the bike on there as well for the hall of fame

Aren't you missing the whole heat shield? It also looks like the clamp is missing which was part of the original rear section of the exhaust.

That's nothing to really worry about so long as the exhaust doesn't leak its fine. They all rust in that area though I can't remember when I've seen one missing so much, the clamp on mine has long rusted off...

It has a peice of metal going around the join which rusted and snapped of so i have cleaned it up and added exhaust putty, I have also ordered a couple of clamps with some stainless tubing to go over it and secure it, I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

The clamp feel of my SY and the heat shield came loose.

Never replaced them but carried on riding for probably 50,000 miles.
