Default novice track nights

hello,

my mate has asked me if i fancied joining him on the novice tracknight at knockhill, 2hours for £45. so not bad value etc...

but was wondering whats the sort of pace of other riders on these nights?? i dont want to go and turn out to be holding everyone back! i'm a fairly new rider, been out since the start of the year. i wouldnt say i ride really fast but i try not to hang around either!

ok apart from the damage if i binned it, whats the chances of damage to the bike? i mean would i cook the brakes, or tyres? bikes only done 1600 miles so its at least broken in.

or should i not be a big girl and just go for it!

any comments greatly appreciated!

have done a few track days at knockhill and provided you stay within your and your bikes limits you will be fine. you wont hold people up as there are plenty of places to pass you. take off your plastics, put on original can, tape up mirrors and headlights, as they will take the brunt if you bin it. its only 1.3 miles long but fill up with petrol in kincardine before going to knockhill as you will use more petrol than normal and its expensive to buy at knockhill. depends on how many turn up how many groups there are. some are real nutters and turn up with bikes in vans etc. avoid these people at all costs. but stop being a big girl and get on with it. you will love it
