Android stuff that I don't understand
OMO... I have downloaded an app on my phone and it doesn't all work. There is a pretty good chance I'm being a tool, but just in case...
It's called JoyEye Lite and it's a silly photo app for taking snaps and filtering etc. https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ite.main&hl=en It says it is only for Android 2.2 but I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace on Gingerbread which is 2.3.3. The developer's site no longer exists and there are no updates for it. It installed and runs, but things like in the camera screen there is a settings button that doesn't work, that sort of thing. Should this work on my phone? Should I just try reinstalling? Is this as good as it gets? |

Re: Android stuff that I don't understand
Usually if the devs no longer support it and the app is developed for an older version it's no longer updated to work with the newer OSes. I think you may need to uninstall and find a similar app which is compatible and supported

Re: Android stuff that I don't understand
So in general one written for an older version won't work on a newer version? Seems a bit, erm, backward but then wouldn't necessarily surprise me!

Re: Android stuff that I don't understand
It's normally listed as FROM V#.##
So it looks like the dev might have stipulated it is ONLY for that one version. There have been MAHOOOSIVE changes since that version too but they are usually backwards compatible to a point and the dev's normally update to work on the newer versions. Try and install the original Doom 1 on your Windows 7/8 machine now, I'm sure you'd have a problem (and not just because you probably have no way of inserting the floppy [fnar] disk) for example, I bough CoPilot on Android when I got my first Android device, (HTC Hero V1.5 Cupcake, I think) back in 2009 and I still use it today, but it's been updated by the devs a bazzilion times in the last five years
