Not an SV, like an SV, smaller than an SV?
Hi,
I'm looking for a new bike but possibly something smaller than an SV, trouble is I don't really know any other reasonably priced reliable bikes going round, any help would be appreciated?! Thanks, Flame! |

What are you intending to use it for? I always thought the SV as being smallish anyway. It's a really nice light well balanced bike with enough go to be able to do the odd spirited overtake or two but not fast enough to get you into serious trouble.

Primarily commuting and taking the mrs on the odd road trip! I do like the SV I'm just thinking of something that might be slightly cheaper on the insurance!

If you're lucky you could find an SV400 and be in the SV family

Re: Not an SV, like an SV, smaller than an SV??
Probably yes. The size of a bike is only one factor when it comes to insurance - my Fazer 1000 is just 180 fully comp, despite having over twice the power of the SV which was 140.
The SV is one of the easiest bikes to insure while still being sporty and capable of touring two-up. Stick with it.

Parallel twin so if you need to restrict it takes it well, but then it doesn't have as much grunt as the SV's v twin so if you meant smaller than an SV in terms of performance, it's perfect. It's not as long as the SV, but I had pillions and they said it was comfortable enough. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_od...=422&_from=R40 Very forgiving riding style, cheap to buy and tax too.
