Rockingham 10th Sept
Booked my 2nd trackday at Rockingham on the National circuit for Tuesday the 10th September, only a couple of stops up the M1 for me, for £85 it seemed a decent price. Especially as No Limits give free tuition and the all important free cuppa!!
Anyone else fancy it? Or any tips/advice for this circuit? Hopefully try and squeeze one more this year at Mallory before the council slap a 50db limit on it |

Re: Rockingham 10th Sept
Great Stadium. Great garages and facilities. No history or "atmosphere". If it rains on the day, take it easy if you don't have wets. If you have wets give it a go. I'm bambi in the wet so maybe ignore that.
The triple left is great, gun it there!! |

Re: Rockingham 10th Sept
Quite tempted but not sure I want to throw my VFR down the track now I've gotten rid of the GSXR
I echo what TIB said about the rain, last year it hammered down and even the fast group guys on wets were sliding off

Re: Rockingham 10th Sept
Cheers for the advice, I'll take wets with me just in case it hammers down all day. I have Michelin Pilot Power 2's on at the moment, if it does rain will these be ok? Bear in mind I'm in the novice group and I'm not exactly giving it big lean angles when cornering!

Re: Rockingham 10th Sept
Nice to meet you today mate, I think you left at lunch which was probably the right time as the weather got worse throughout the afternoon.

Re: Rockingham 10th Sept
Good to meet you and your other half too mate. Yes I did skulk out at around 3, was going to go out again at 2.30 but spoke to a few others and they reckon it gets greasy out there after a shower. I wasn't sure what it would have been like to be honest but I'd enjoyed my sessions before lunch so I thought it best to leave on a high rather than drop it and kick myself for not calling it a day when I did.
Good luck to your other half with passing her bike test. |

Re: Rockingham 10th Sept
I didn't find it slippy, but there was smoke and oil coming out of the VFR after the last session before lunch and there wasn't much left of the footpeg blobs so I decided to take it a bit easier just concentrating on being smooth and taking the right lines rather then hooning about. Don't think the VFR is too keen on being in the VTEC range in second for a whole 30 minute session.
There was a guy on a naked, yellow SV who crashed on the first session, spend the rest of the morning fixing his bike up only to go out after lunch and crash again on the sighting lap! Must have been something wrong with his bike, or him lol

Re: Rockingham 10th Sept
I spoke to that lad first thing, guess he clocked my SV and came over for a chat, nice fella. I see he came off in the morning, and I'm certain he came off again at the start of Gracelands the session before lunch, he literally left the pits on the first lap and then came off. Didn't know he'd gone down again after lunch! Kind of feel for him but to go down 3 times, unless there's something up with your bike, I thought he would have eased off a bit. Guess it's all part of the trackday learning curve!

Re: Rockingham 10th Sept
Must have been before lunch then. I spoke to him too, was in the garage next to me. His Mrs was with him and doing her nut ha. Luckily he'd brought plenty of spares

Re: Rockingham 10th Sept
Pics are up. I had just been overtaken by this guy on a very nice looking r1, then he did this. Ouch!
