Re: Silly MPG
...so I would most certainly be getting more than 50 mpg in Merry Olde England...
...in that case, I might not be too far off the OG poster's mark, nor be riding as hard as methinks me be riding, then, eh...???... |

Re: Silly MPG
I was at 60 mpg commuting on A roads and motorway, so not hanging about either but when I moved it was 35 miles of motorway each way returning 70 mpg. I tended to shift at 6000 rpm commuting and sit at an indicated 80 mph on the motorway. I've done about 65,000 miles on two K9s to work out that average, so I think it's pretty robust! I only ever managed to get it down to 47 mpg on the road. Don't forget if you're comparing English Gallons to American gallons you'll get about 10 or so MPG more too.

Re: Silly MPG
I usually get around 65-70 miles per Scottish gallon on my AL7 but the bike is capable of over 80 miles per Scottish gallon.

Re: Silly MPG
Scottish gallons are the same size as English ones but cost a lot less right? Especially after independence...

Re: Silly MPG
...so, there are Imperial gallons, US gallons, and dry gallons...
...it appears we yanks and you limeys are decadent *******s compared to most of the world... ...they parcel their fuel in liters...and eat tiny portions...and use euros... Last edited by Hapo; 18-07-17 at 01:10 PM. |

Re: Silly MPG
We use litres as well. We just refuse to use them in polite conversation because... well... they're French.
