Default Big Thanks To Luckypants

Today I would`ve liked to join the ride out but my confidence has been so badly lacking that in honesty i`ve dreaded the ride outs in case i held everyone up. Since getting my bike in October i`ve only ridden locally on roads i`m used to and i haven`t actually ridden that much.

Sooooooooooooooooooo.....................

Today I arranged to go out with Mike, just the 2 of us so that i didn`t feel under pressure to keep up with anyone and he took me out around Wales just to get used to riding on unfamiliar roads. Had a fantastic time and I was out for about 8 hours. The fog was horrendous when i left the house at 9, I nearly turned back at one point cos i could hardly see but once we got to Ruthin it cleared and the weather was absolutely fantastic. Couldn`t tell you where we went but the sun was shining and it was glorious.

I`ve still got a lot of work to do confidence wise and my riding still leaves a lot to be desired but i`ll get there and I now feel happier bout joining a rideout. The fresh air has done me in and i`m totally knackered but thanks Mike, was so good of you to help me out and i had a fantastic day, many many thanks

Nice one, Mike

And good for you Claire, for persisting and not letting the weather at the start of the day put you off!

Well done indeed! So that's why he was so cagy about who he was with when I phoned!

Yes, the fog was frikken awefull, I hit it at Runcorn on the M56, it lasted all the way to Wrexham. Booo, hissss.

Gorgeous out there though wasn't it! Fog in the valleys looks great from the top of the high roads.

We went from Ponderosa, North to the roundabout, then Bala, over the tops to Abergele, then St Asaph, Denbigh, Ruthin, Wrexham, then across to the A49 where I had a bit of fun winding up some weekend warriors!

Oh, never worry about holding us up. The rides are social events and the pace adapts to the group.

Pete

Oh, and bumped into Girth in Abergele, riding out to visit his Dad.

lol... he was probs doing the gentlemanly thing and keeping mum cos he wasn`t sure if i wanted to openly admit to being such coward!!!!

Yep the fog was horrendous, i was soaked by the time i got to our meeting place and frozen solid. Even my hair was wet!!!!

From Ruthin on tho it was georgous, we stopped for a bit at Bala and it was like a summers day, i think we went to Denbigh too but can`t be sure.

Despite what everyone says bout not worrying bout the pace of the rideouts i can`t help it Pete, its not just the pace its everything! however i`m feeling a lot better now and actually looking forward to joining you all

We went to Ruthin (cos I knew there was no fog there) Then TT road, Frongoch, A4212 towards Trawsfynedd, B-road to Blaenau (view was stunning, it was SO clear), Ysbyty Ifan, A5 to BYC, A470 to Bleanau, a few wiggles and then back via A494 to Bala, then A5104 back.

That luckypants is a tart. A lady smiles his way and he is away with the fairies. Don't trust him. he is no different from any other bloke. he just wants someone to paddle whilst he lies back and thinks of wales

I thought about it, but the list was sooooo big, I couldn't decide which way to go, got all flustered and left it!

Suffice to say, I don't think of Mike in the same way any more.
