Default Ring Terminals - battery connections.

I'm off to get a new battery and an optimate tomorrow due to killing my battery with my latest test ride. Anyway I am going to fit the quick connector for the optimate but this will then mean I have two ring terminals and the main battery lead connected to each terminal of the battery, so:
  • Ring terminals for the Fireblade Reg/Rec
  • Ring terminals for the optimate
  • SV standard battery terminals

Is there a better way of wiring this up or should I just get some longer bolts and cooper grease the lot and bolt it up?

I've got two sets of ring terminals (heated grips and heated jacket) on the VFR with the standard bolts no problem. Slightly trickier to 'start' the bolt than with nothing on but that's it.

yer that's pretty much what I was going to do but then I thought I may want to add heated grips for next year with the new uprated reg/rec as it has the power so then I have three ring terminals and the main battery lead. I suppose I was wondering if there was some nice, funky, battery terminal block out there on the market that makes all this easy to add new things without building and inch high group of ring terminal ends on top of the battery

I'd have a browse of http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu and see if there is anything suitable. Report back if you find anything!

An easy way to do it would be to build a rail.Get a 2in. piece of copper, put a 90 degree twist into it, drill 10mm holes in each end. Bolt one to a battery terminal, and put a bolt through the other with a nut in the other side to hold it in place. Solder the rail-bolt to the copper for better connectivity. Then put as many ring terminals as you want onto the rail-bolt and put another nut on the end to tighten it all up. Just make sure to cover the live-one with some rubber or something just in case...

Aux fusebox from Centech

http://www.centechwire.com/catalog/cycles/ap1.shtml

Mine has 6/7 connectors and can handle up to 60A

Means you only have one set of cables running to the battery so less oppertunity to short out (useful on the ADV where the battery is where the front downpipe runs on an SV)

Also makes changing fuses a doddle, you did fuse the accessories right?
