I got 95k from my clutch cable, lever & perch, cable was sticky, and perch become so sloppy that lever moved up in down in perch more than the clutching motion
I had 102k when I replaced my fibres & springs, clutch was still not slipping, but I had no adjustment left and it only grabbed as I had the lever completely released

at 123k, I still have the original steel plates in my clutch basket

I don't abuse clutch by doing burnouts or clutched wheelies, but I slip the clutch a lot, that's how I smooth my downshifts rather than blipping, I also slip clutch a lot in low speed manuvers and when I ride off road on single track trails.

Mine only lasted to 20k.

I suspected it was worn out after my 3k trip to portugal, then two weeks later on the motoway while shifting it the revs just shot off the dial. All the way home the clutch was playing up, being ok one min then bad the next.

When i took it out, 2 plates had snapped into 2 peices and all the steel plates were heavly blue. I am convinced that the realy hot weather on holiday and the journey as a whole took its toll on the clutch + other things.

Chnaged it last week at 42000 miles. Mostly town work. It wasnt slipping, but the springs where shot in length. Plus the plates where cheap

I just had mine out at 21,000... Put new springs in, just because I had them lying about, but the plates were in good nick so I put them back.

Out of interest, how much was your new clutch? Did you buy it in a kit or was it seperate plates?

i asked at a suki dealer and you can get the plates in two sets!
steal plates and friction plates.

Yup. And the steels are good for a loooooong time, unless they get damaged or warped. Probably longer than the clutch basket, going by the way mine had worn. A whole new set of plates is Not Cheap.
