Another statistic
Sadly this item was in our local paper at the weekend.
"A 50 yr old motorcyclist died after being in collision with a Toyota Hilux pick-up truck on the A452 Kenilworth Road (Leamington Spa) last Thursday. Ian Yardley, of Birmingham, died at the scene from his injuries. A 54-yr-old man from Coventry has since appeared in court charged with causing death by careless driving, with excess alcohol, aggravated vehicle take, failure to stop, failure to report a collision and driving without insurance." I didn't know the rider, but this just struck me as such a typical senseless incident. It will of course go down as a motorcyclist casualty in the statistics, showing how irresponsible and reckless we all are, it won't be shown as an innocent rider killed by a drunk ****wit in a stolen truck. Very sad, thoughts to the family and friends. (and I hope they throw away the key ) |

I was on that road a couple of weeks ago too.
A taxi pulled out on me the other night and was probably quite lucky to keep it upright after a 10 foot skid with the rear wheel locked and out to the side. |

Utterly sad and a dreaful waste. What's almost as sad is that the b*stard that did it will likely get a suspended sentence because of certain "mitigating" circumstances his brief will cook up .

reminds me of crimefighters on men and motors the other day. they portrayed bikers like criminals from the word go, featuring on a program named as it is. critising born again bikers as being the only people able to afford bikes, as they start from 9k upwards.... didnt know that myself.
they went on about them being dangerous and very fast on the road. then they went to 2 bike accidents, both caused by car drivers. why doesnt this seem stupid to the makers of the program? how can they contridict themelves so rapidly and put it on TV? id be interested to know how many bikers kill other road users, in proportion to car drivers. |

Yep, Driver is bound to get light sentence, that sort of thing should be treated as certain manslaughter if not murder imo

It also goes to show that the complete a*seholes of this world are not purely confined to the under 30 age group.Very sad and so very infuriating.

It's just sick....
.... nearly as sick as the 18 month ban and £200 fine he'll get. No mention of manslaughter or murder!
