Default how much for my bike?

Hi guys!

I've been thinking about a different bike for a while now, but never found any reason to actually sell the SV. I had different bikes before, but none had the fun factor of the SV. Anyway, I saw something that I would really love (Honda VFR 800 ABS) and I'm wondering how much I can ask for my SV...

It's a K6 S model (full original fairing), napoleon blue with 11000 miles. Accessories include a tail tidy, black cnc brake/clutch levers, fuel stainless exhaust, small led turn signals, Double bubble dark screen, crash protectors and an ohlins shock (sv650 model, not from a different bike) that looks like brand new and is set up for a 75kg (12 stones) rider. Cuts corner like a knife cuts butter...

In terms of maintenance, even better. Full service history, with dealer stamps, more servicing than the book requires, just in case. The expensive consumables have been recently replaced: Michelin Pilot Road 4 (look like new) and a tsubaki golden chain + sprockets (about twice the price of a DID chain). Next to this, the steering head bearings have been replaced with tappered ones during the last service. Obviously, there is fresh oil in the engine, the air filter is new, the standard spark plugs have been replaced with NGK iridium ones and all fluids (coolant, brake fluid) are new.

The only downside is a scratch on the front cowl, about 3 inches long. the previous owner kept the bike in the garage and on a windy day, he scratched the cowl when attempting to put the bike in the garage.

All paperwork is available (service book, V5, owner manual, all MOT's, all TAX) and I have both the original keys.

How much can I ask for it?

I can take some pics later on, I'm in London (Hounslow area). But I'm not even sure if I should sell, it depends on how much I can get for it.

Without any pics it's a bit hard to tell but £2500 should be achievable.

If you're wanting a bike for the fun factor though you're going to get bored of the VFR.

Ok, here a few pictures... Taken today, bike is a little dirty (it's too cold to wash it, but trust my word that it will be cleaned before selling and it looks like brand new when washed) and I can only upload 5 pics, so here are the "highlights"...

Regarding the VFR, there are more reasons why I want it (want to travel around, feel better with ABS and regularly take passengers on a bike). I'm sure it will become "boring" at one point, but I had SV's since I was 18 (26 now). Time for something new

I think you are stretching things a bit putting this in tuning and tweaking. Why not put it in For Sale as that is where it belongs.

I had a test ride on one last year (VFR800). Lasted 40 mins and was bored by the time I took it back. Having said that, my 73 yo brother in New Zealand recently bought one and loves it. Personal taste I suppose.

how can something that is not for sale belong in the "for sale" forum?

how can you get bored with a vfr!!,i know we are not all the same and are all looking for different things, but owning two,yes thats right two vfr800 pre vtecs(but not the newer vtec) i can honestly say you/i can not get bored with it,they are "fun" bikes to ride, with that v4 engine sound, they handle well,155 mph,in the right hands will give newer and higher HP bikes a run for there money, the engine is a peach and will rev up to the redline in every gear all day long, and the engine is good for 250k with long service intervals, but i can honestly say the 1200 bandit was boring, and my fireblade was good, but not for touring or long distance,so with the option of several bikes in the garage, the vfr was the bike of choice for me,the other two were sold

It's heavy, it's ugly and I got used to the power.
Don't get me wrong, as a piece of engineering and as a mode of transport it's pretty much the best 2 wheeled vehicle you can buy. For me though a bike is a toy, I am just about still young enough to do 200+ mile days on a Fireblade without too many aches and every time I twist the throttle it outs a huge smile on my face, the VFR just didn't do that.
