I went and popped in briefly to see Jason today, felt a bit of an intrude with his mum being there so didn't stop long. He has had an op today, and appeared quite perky for someone just out of surgery. The surprised ' Dizzyblonde'!!!!! that came out of his mouth spoke volumes, so I hope the few minutes brightened his day.

I shall try to pop in again next week and convey everyones well wishes

Good to hear that Jason is slowly recovering.

From what he's told me he's given both his parents a bit of a roasting, due to them both being bikers & wearing less protective gear than he does.

Thanks Dizzyblonde for continuing the .Org support going & visiting him.

Hi all I am now out of hospital after a 2 week stretch that felt like a life time (its a bit like prison with better drugs)

I want to thank you all for your support it truly does mean a lot to me. From the people who scooped me up and bundeled me in to an ambulence (I think that was Mel) to all who have helped since.

I feel a special mention must go to Baph people like you are a rare find you have been truly awsome to me I could not possibly thank you enough and only hope that when the worst of this is behind me that we can at the very least get togeather for a pint.

Thanks to Dizzy Blonde for popping in that was a great boost to morale (please e-mail me with your real name I have forgotten it in a haze of Morphine)

Thanks to Neio for keeping in touch and introducing me to such a great community of people. I am sad i didnt make it to Petes to get to know you all a little better.

The full story

After many xrays and scans most of the damage is to my right shoulder having pulled it from the socket and broken the humorus in 2 places at the top, and broken the collor bone and scapula (shoulderblade) and 4 ribs (3 clean snapped off 1 fractured) and a smashed shoulder socket, I am trying to get hold of a print off of the cat scan if i can i will post it.

My oppperation was eventually carried out in Huddersfield on Monday the 7th April (just 9 short days after the accident) by Mr Halder one of the UK leading shoulder specialists. he cut me at the elbow and drilled up my bone to fit a Halder nail (which he invented) holding the 3 bits of my humouras togeather then using key hole surgery rebuilt my socket and put a pin in to my collor bone, he has realigned my scapula and says that it should knit togeather by its self, he then pulled my shoulder back in to the socket and here I am it took 4.5 hours in surgery
I came home on Friday APRIL 11th and am still in a lot of pain but glad to be out of Hospital. I can't move my arm yet but i have made a little progress. I see the specialist in 3 weeks for a checkup and with a litttle luck my stitches come out on the 19th.

On another note the insurance company have made me an offer on my bike thanks to all who helped out with statements and photos.

Again thanks for all your support and I will keep you posted with my progress.

Welcome to the Madhouse :P

Glad to hear you are healing, heard all about your "bump" from Baph.

Good work in getting another Pan off the road, bit of an extreme way of making an excuse for getting another bike, but I must say, I like your style.

Anyways enough of me trying to be funny, rest plenty, heal fast and maybe you can make it to the Annual Rideout in July and there will be many beers.

Coincidences abound this week. First I bend my cowling brace & get a replacement cheap the very same day, then I finally manage to sort the photos, and I'm just about to drop Neio79 a PM to ask for you email addr again, and I see this post!!

Then just as I'm reading the post, my other half calls me with "Jason just called to say..." When Jen told you I'd be fixing the bike tonight, I'm actually going to be stripping the front end ready to hopefully put the new brace on in the morning (and it get's me out of sunday lunch with the inlaws ).

Apologies for not sorting photo's sooner mate, but drop me a PM with your email addr again & I'll send them today. I misplaced the piece of paper with your email addr on it.

As I posted before, I don't consider what I've done to be that much, and I would love to think that should similar happen to me, there would be someone (anyone) capable and willing to do the same. Therefore chalk this one down to me biasing the system & lining up some good karma for the future. (Maybe that's used up now in the cowling brace incident...)

As for the pint, not a problem the next time you're down this way, but I'm also up in Yorkshire now & again as I have family around Dewsbury/Batley/Huddersfield/Leeds.

T'is only a matter of time for you now mate, hopefully there won't be any complications & recovery will be speedy.

P.S. Chosen your next bike yet?

Hope to meet you again on another ride out!
