Yoshimura RS-3, R&G Crash Bungs + Lower Fairing on 2011 SV650?
Hi all, a long title I know!
I own an SV650 2011 with the full RS-3 exhaust fitted. I happen to know someone who knows the previous owner of the bike and supposedly the bigger diameter or the downpipe caused the belly pan to warp/disfigure so he didn't sell it with the bike. My question is, is this actually possible? and if I buy the genuine lower fairings from Suzuki how likely are they to do the same thing? R&G Crash Bungs I bought the Crash Bungs for the un-faired/bikini SV650 and the product codes for this and the faired version are different, will the fairings fit over my crash bungs or will I need to order new ones? Cheers Chris |

Firstly, I have standard exhaust system and a genuine suzuki belly pan, mine has melted/did figured in a tiny spot that's closest to the exhaust, so it's a possibility it could happen to the fairings, it isn't noticeable unless your face planting it really.
Different crash bungs for fairings, as the holes are are in a different place or something like that. I just know I've seen many of threads about crash bungs and fairings |

The naked crash bungs will work but requires you to shave about 1cm of the inside of the fairings. Had them on my last SV
But opted for the proper faired ones this time |

Re: Yoshimura RS-3, R&G Crash Bungs + Lower Fairing on 2011 SV650?
@joshwalker094, well that makes me feel a bit better knowing its not just the Yoshi that does it, I thought about it at work today and could I not put some heat shield material on the inside of the fairing in the places closest to the exhaust to stop it from melting it?
@Elliott, thanks for that , I'll probably get the faired ones so I don't have to bodge my fairings aha @Criggers, you could be in luck sir, but I need to get paid first before I start buying fairings/ new crash bungs, I shall let you know if/when i'm getting rid of them Cheers Guys! |
