meetings around Stoke
My daughter is at Keele Uni and has taken her bike this year. Are there any bike clubs in the area or popular meeting places if she fancied meeting other bikers.

Re: meetings around Stoke
hi..
there is the stormy petrel at tern hill.. which is a nice ride out on a thursday about a 40 minute run from keele.. best route down is from off the bottom of a500 where it meets the M6 at Newcastle end and take the a road towards eccleshall.. great road... but dark now !. not sure if tern hill is on in "winter" . also Bassetts pole out toward brum way .. on a tuesday night.. both have websites. Border patrol have the odd meet at Farmers arms in Kelsall on way to chester. on some wednesdays... of cours ethere is the Boirder patrol christmas do at my house in Crewe. she welcome to attend but prob be on crimbo hols and home with you.. there used to be a staffordshire riders forum but it has disbanded now.. shame .. good group of guys n girls. Jason who ran it lives in Madeley actually .. there are meetings every sunday at the Raven cafe in prees Heath - near W"hitchurch.. nice run to there too not too far .. it is a bikers stop so anytime she can call there the Raven or Midland truck stop cafe and there will be bikers.. hard though for lady on her own I know.. she could look up PAD .. Potteries and district riding . it is the training centre for cbt etc.. website there.. e mail them and ask if any clubs etc. also Brians .. thats a biker test place next to stoke city stadium.. same thing- sure she could mail them and ask if there are any clubs. star bikers.. in stoke.. they are a biker club- open to all.. think they meet in a local pub once a week .. RJH bike training in Congleton.. ROB is lovely .. and may have lots of contacts for female riders in the area.- I am sure he organises ride outs too. he has a website.. and of course. US.. she more than welcome to come on a border rideout. or pop round me and mands for a brew if she wants a rideout- we only in Crewe. nice ride from Keele through Betley and past the golf course at wychwood then open it up down the shavingtom bypass and u at our house. however- not many ride outs in winter and me and mandy are 44 so may be old n fuddy duddy for a young student.. me pm you .. Dave I will PM you with

Re: meetings around Stoke
Think Stormy Petrel has closed Quiff. There was a comment in a thread on here about it a couple of months ago I think.

Re: meetings around Stoke
Is the stormy petrel right opposite clive barracks? If so then it has been closed last couple of times I've been past. Always seems to be someone doing mod 2 training on the car park though.

Re: meetings around Stoke
Yup it's directly opposite RAF Ternhill. Not sure about now, but last time I went past was early August and it was boarded up then.
If she wants ideas for a ride and not just a local meet then it's only an hour or so to the Ponderosa Cafe and some fantastic roads/scenery over that way. |

Re: meetings around Stoke
The Stormy meet has been moved to the Raven Cafe in Whitchurch now.
I dont think there will be many there at this time of year though
