I am not sure what all you peeps think, but this site is a live pot of information to all and sundry that visit...

What are peoples views on a section focused on reviews, having running threads, such as:

Bike:-
Tyres
Exhausts
undetrays
huggers

Riding gear:-
lids
gloves

We cover these topics on a regular basis and some really good stuff come out..but its a pain in the behind trying to find it at a later date...

anyhow would this be too much like hard work, am i being silly...

your answers on a used and discarded tissue please

Regards

Fraser

Excellent suggestion. I will contribute to the 'gloves' section when it is open.

Yeah, I agree, it must be as frustrating for the "old hands" who know "they have seen the info somewhere before" as it is is for the "newbies" who need extra guidance in the early days

Seems so far that peeps seem to think its a good idea, the big question is

A)how do you go about doing it?,
B)do we have to get a poll going or something?
C)do we tie in previous threads or start afresh?

I take it someone would have to climb the golden stairway to Big Johns office and ask him in a sqeaky voice

Turn this into a Poll (edit your original post & include a poll question).

Send an e-mail to John (Admin - john@sv650.org) telling him about your idea & I'm sure he'll do the rest

here's some ideas, apologies if they have been suggested before. please take it as "constructive criticiscm"

it wouldn't have to just be reviews, maybe there could be more granularity in the main sections too for example:-

sv - general sv topics
general discussion - chat not related to the bike
exhausts
engine
oil and tyres (generally do not mix but it seems OK here )
equipment (leathers, gloves, helmets)

and others I have probably forgotten (e.g. the law, MOTs etc.)

on the car forum I also read, the mods have the ability to make some threads "sticky" so that they appear at the top of each section all the time. so, for example, if someone posts a guide to suspension modification or whatever and people find it useful, it can be marked as "sticky".

just a couple of ideas anyway.
