Default Battery and charging

So yesterday by mistake i turned the key all the way to the left so park lights came on must of left it for over an hr before i noticed went to start the bike for work dead narda totally flat click click 📉 so bumped it fired up only to die again so pushed up the hill into garage connected up to charger just tried 1st push rev bomb. Is it a floor with the park light idea or is my battery on way out? Surly and hr or so shouldnt kill the battery its never died before always on the money

Sometimes when the battery is on the way out, then the parking light can kill it

I don't know what that means.

However, charge the battery for 24 hours and see what happens. Fully discharging batteries is bad for them and older ones never really recover. You could try it on a quality charger, like an Optimate - one that does a de-sulphation charge cycle. It may work, but usually doesn't if that battery's on its last legs. If it were me and the battery was >2 years old I'd just buy a new one.

Updates I bought an Oxford 900 charger and cable wired her in and since then not an issue holds a steady output and I think the reason is my own fault as I ride to work and back all week I only do 6 miles round trip so bikes not warm or charging up so now I've opted for the get home and go for a good 1hr ride before bed so now my night shifts always end with me living the dream

The power of the Mighty Optimate.

I have my 2003 SV connected to an Optimate 4 most of the time.

Battery is the original (13 years old!) and still holds its charge faultlessly.

The moral of the story is....
