tyre Valve Change?

Can my valves be changed without removing the wheel from the bike.
Mine are both seized on (metal stems and metal caps) and I need to get them both replaced. Or do they need to remove the wheels to break the bead on the tyre?
Is there not a possible way to do this quicker and easier?

Nope, you will need to get the tyre off dude!

Try some penitrating fluid first to see if you can get the dust caps off!

No fluid will budge em. Somebody did suggest a Dremmel!! Will see if I can borroe one. If not then wheels out and down the shop I guess.

Have you tried heating the caps up.

If they are metal, and you are careful - can you use some molegrips on the valve stem, and some on the valve cap and try to twist it loose?

Be careful tho, and if you get it free, I would suggest using some water too see if you have dislodged the valve and see if you can see any air bubbles from leaks...

I would replace them with plastic, or make sure you take them off every week to make sure they dont get stuck again (btw - how long since you last checked your tyre pressures?)

You may as well have a go and try to get them free - if you do knacker the valves, you will only have to go to the tyre place anyway...

Not sure how a dremel will free them - how was it suggested to be used?

I'm assumming it's one of those metal ones.I had a siezed one some time ago. Those things really need a bit of grease to stop them siezing or every so often undoing.

Plent of penetrating fluid, molegrips with a bit of rag around the lowers section to stop it twisting and pliers on the cap it's self.

Re dremel, I guess you could try cutting the top of the cap off and then some penetrating fluid.

Grind off the side of the cap to break the tension then get it off.
