Default help bike written off i think

I had a off yesterday , roads wet was going about 30 mph , went to break and bike slid lost it , slid down road with bike , didn't hit any thing , I got away with pulled mussels in arm , bike totally lost all fairings to one side plus all other damage to bike , any way sure it will be written off , its a triumph tt600 03 plate 15500 on clock , I was going to trade it in last week and was offered £1500 for it , looked on eBay and same bike / year are going for about £2000 what should I look at getting if bike is written off , any advise on how to deal with the insurance company , they have arranged for my bike to be collected from my house tomorrow so it can be looked at by a engineer to see if its being written off , any help or advise would be great as if never dealt with insurance company's before , I know I will lose my two years discount and my insurance will go up , also not to take there first offer , buts that's all I know , any help or advise would be great thanks

Are you interested in keeping the bike or are you happy to get rid?

As you were looking at a trade in, I assume the latter.

If so, I'd let them take it away, chase them up for the result of the inspection and their offer if, as expected, it's a write off.

You seem to have a pretty realistic idea of value so you're in a good position to judge if their offer is fair or not. If it is, accept it, cash the cheque and go shopping.

Aye just keep chasing them up to get your offer then you can decide if you want to negotiate if you feel the offer is too low. Should be straight forward.

When my car got written of I used the guide on the website of that money advice bloke on the telly (Martin something). Although I find his advice on other stuff pretty basic he was spot on on his insurance guide. He listed in stages exactly what would happen and the insurance company did pretty much exactly what he said they would, even the letters were nearly identical to the ones he used as examples. Also he lists all the regulations insurance companies should stick to in agreeing a price with you and I used these to my advantage, for example they were comparing my car to cars in Scotland where the market is cheaper when the maximum distance from your home as to be with 60miles.
