The Best Rides
I was looking at maps for possible routes and roads to navigate this summer and stumbled across this book that supposedly has all the best routes compiled into one book.
http://www.thebestrides.co.uk/ Has anyone owned or looked at one of these or similar? Are they any good at unearthing 'local gems' ????

I got one given to me as a Christmas present - it makes a good road atlas to carry under the rear seat and that's about it. Some of the routes they have marked as "good" seem a little odd, some routes that I know from my own riding don't figure.

By the time they get one of these compilation books published, the routes are well know to bikers and thus too busy the really enjoy or Big Brother has imposed unwarranted speed limits, inserted traffic calming or in some other way ruined it. Go out there and Get Lost.
