She rides again?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/6721685.stm
that's my surgeon, that is. "There are treatments for wet AMD but not for dry AMD." Unfortunately, I have the dry kind, but there's hope. |

Re: She rides again?
Here's hoping the procedure can be transferred to Dry AMD for you
"More operations are also planned with the patients' own cells in those suffering from dry AMD to test the procedures effectiveness." otherwise the money's not going to go to the 10%. At least they're doing something. Wish you the best. |

Re: She rides again?
See, if there's hope for you then I'm still holding out for a robotic leg with a gun holster in the thigh (a la Robocop).
Hey, I can dream. Seriously though, it's nice to hear of some medical research that could potentially be of real benefit for you. Normally it's only the 'growing and ear on a mouse' type that makes the news. Curiosity; so if they asked, would you be willing to be in the first 'subject' group? |

Re: She rides again?
He's already asked me. I haven't decided yet. He'll only do my good eye tho, to stop it packing up. So unless they can fix the bad eye, still no riding. But least I'll be able to read etc.
