Re: £45 of donnington, too much?
Club race very reasonable for sure. Take look at ticket cost for some football ground. Price you say not very too high for see best in world.
At Valencia later in season price will range from 35 to 180 euros. And you know? Less than 4'000 ticket be left. This one of biggest sport occasion and of course price not be always low. 45 of your GBP to come see me winning race be very good price no? |

£45 of donnington, too much?
Just checked the prices of the GP seems to be £45 in advance and £60 on the day, to me this seems a lot of money. £45 would be my upper limit, including transport, food etc not going to much change from £70.
Anyone in the know, are these cost warrented, does it really cost this much to host a gp, being that these are the cheapest tickets and I take it they get money from all the food stalls, shop stalls etc it seems like a lot of cash they would be making. |

Who cares what the costs are - they'll charge as much for a ticket as they can. It's not too much if people are prepared to pay.

Re: £45 of donnington, too much?
I go to club races at say Mallory Park or Brands and pay £12(used to be £10)to get in and watch continous racing all day. That's usually about 22 races but at club standard as opposed to Rossi standard. As long as it is competitive that difference is fine by me at the price.I watch the GP on telly.
Went to the Post TT at Mallory last Sunday and paid £17 to get in(prices creeping up there too)and watched 10 races, all classic era stuff, and all very close competitive stuff, and several parades of historic race bikes. These included some very rare 50s and 60s Hondas,Gileras,BSAs,Nortons,AJSs and Triumphs.Last year's highlight was watching Phil Read,John Cooper and AGO racing round on their MVs and BSAs.This year's special was Capirossi's GP winning 990 Desmodici blatting round.I was able to savour the delights of the Duke from about ten feet away while it roared past at well over a ton.Cum on feel the noize. My take on the big events is that the crowds make it all a bit of an ordeal, whereas the laid back informal small events are a nice day out,but I'm just wierd that way.

I think I paid £45 or something similar on the day for WSBK at Donnington this year.
I don't care. Top quality racing all day. (Although I agree with BB, the club racing is worth every penny!! Love it!) |

Re: £45 of donnington, too much?
You think £45 is bad?
I used to go every year & take my kids (who are now grown up), but , due to divorce etc hadn't been able to afford for the last 3 years. My middle lad wanted to camp this year as his birthday present, so I said yes. Been online, ordered 2 weekend camping tickets & it has cost me £171 .
