Default Mechanical help required, Perth, can pay small fee for small job

About 99% of my posts are about how crap a mechanic i am, but ive outdone myself recently and changed oil, filters, brake pads, brake lines and sprockets.

I'm stuck now though and need some help before i ruin it.

I need someone to bleed my brakes , and i need someone to rivet my chain.

I have tried and failed both.

the chain is assembled , but i need it taken apart so i can mount the brake caliper mount on its little groove on the swingarm (rookie error!), then it needs riveted.

essentially i have run out of time , tools and patience, can someone help me out ?

Can't help u with the brakes bud. I hate em.

You should though be able to get the rear caliper on no bother with the chain intact.

Undo axle nut, slacken chain adjusters, tap axle out left handside. Take chain off rear sprocket and lay on top of the back of the swingarm.

Always good to have a block of wood under rear tyre when u do all this as it makes it easier to line up caliper and swingarm.

Put loads of grease on the spacers either side for protection of bearings and keeps them in place better.

Thread axle through righthand side. Thread through caliper holder and spacer, through wheel. U can stick a big screwdriver through the righthandside of the swingarm to help you line up the axle to go straight through. A rubber or plastic mallet to tap axle through. Half way through put chain on sprocket. Slacken off chain adjusters more if this is not happening.

If your axle thread is on right hand side change it to left. Makes **** all difference.

Hope some of this gives u a eureka moment!

Hooray for shafties!!!

Andy

Well don't keep us in suspense, how did the MoT go?

Don't tell me, failed for having the axle thread on the left hand side...
