Default Tyre usage on the front?

I have got to the edge of my front tyre but have about 5mm left on the rear.

Isnt this normally the other way around with the rear being all used and the front having some left?

It got me worried about loosing the front end whilst cornering now.

Does anyone know what the cause could be.

Is it just my cornering techniqe, I.E possibly just going to slow whilst cornering or the fact all the corners last night were pretty tight?

Or could it be that the front suspension is running to hard compared to the rear, it doesnt feel as planted as I think it should at the front?

I think it was only 1psi out as I checked before going out as the bike hadnt been out on it for 3 weeks.

Could be this though I suppose with have to check again.

120/60 section on the front? Not a very sharp profile so easy to get to the edge.

Normally harder to get to the edge on the front on a sports bike because they've got flatter rear tyres and pointier tyres on the front.

From my experience it depends on the brand too - my old BT019 was about 5-6mm from the edge but the Road Attack that replaced it goes right up to the edge - both tyres were 120/70 and had done mixed road/track riding - just a thought...

hmmmm could be anything then

I'll have a play with tyre pressures and the front suspension at the weekend and see if I can improve things.....or send my bike into a gravel pit whichever comes first.

This phenomenon is not unusual. If you dig around old threads, its come up a few times before

But in short, it is tyre dependent, nothing to worry about, its quite normal.

Cheers, I did have a little search but it only brought up the rear to the edge and plenty left on the front. Not the other way around.

I think you have probably worked through more tyres than most to be fari though.
