engine noise

Hi, I’m experiencing some really bad engine noise from the bottom end. The noise only turns up between 2000rpm and 4500rpm but does not happen all the time. It is a 2000 curvy. Has anyone else had this problem? and what could it be? any ideas?

Could you describe the noise a bit more? Is it a vibration, a knocking, a rumbling, a ticking?

Can you identify the exact area?

Check your oil level and top up as required (do this with the bike level, not on the sidestand...I'm sure you know this but you'd be suprised how many don't!)

If your bike hasn't had an oil change in the last year or in the last 5000 miles, then change the oil and oil filter (10w 40 semi synthetic motorcycle oil, or fully synth motorcycle oil of the same grade)

i have changed the oil about 2 days ago and the level is spot on. the noise is coming from the clutch side and it is like a gremlin tapping on the casing with a hammer lol. but the doesnt seem to be any diffrance in engine performance or ant dodgy vibration it is just a noice and is gettin on my wick.

Hmm...knocking noises are not good...i think you should seek a second opinon from someone who can listen to your bike (unless you can get a video with sound for us all?)
