Born Again
Just to say hello as new registered member in Manchester.
20 years away from Biking ( Family y'no!) Chose sv due to low insurance grp (no NCD) but good reviews. First experience is that it's Alot difrnt to the 2 strokes i used to ride. Unfortunately within 3 weeks and 200 miles one morning bike apeared dead! No life in instrument panel but batery and fuses all OK. Dealer recons he has fixed it but i have had no details what and how. Am i wishing too much that a 1 1/2 year old bike that has been made since '03 should be reliable? Only time will tell. Any frequent faults i should know about?

Re: Born Again
Hi mate,
Nope the sv is a pretty reliable bike if looked after, you won't go far wrong with a sv tbh. |

Re: Born Again
Welcome to the org mate.
I had the exact same problem you just described last week. No life in instrument panels and battery was fine. Called the RAC out and he had a fiddle with some small see through plastic holder type thingy that had wires (?) running through it that was located on the right of the bike under the seat area, he sprayed it with something and it seems to be fine now. You can tell how technical I am but I'm sure someone will be able to explain what I'm on about, though that was with a curvy and you've gone and got yourself the evil twin so it may be something totally different. Nice choice of colour though and nice wheels too! |

Re: Born Again
i have read about the 'dreaded green ignition connector' and tipover sensors on th US SV forum.
Are these likely to have been the problem? How do i keep them from causing me problem in future?
