Final problems before she's on the road
Hi guys, i bought an sv650k3s back in February as a project for over the summer, it ended up being a ball ache because problems just kept arising, but she's finally almost there.
The issues i'm facing and need advice on how to move forward are: - The bike seems to sometimes only run on one cylinder whilst sat idling in my garage - The killswitch doesnt work (Doesn't really bother me) - Side stand cutout switch doesn't work (Already replaced it to no effect) Any input is greatly appreciated Dean |

good advice from Seeker, also check the fuse. kill switch not working is an MOT failure.

Is it the front pot that dies?
Spit on the pipe to find out. If so, the plug recess drain is probably full of water.

Re: Final problems before she's on the road
Thanks everyone, the cylinder issue was just a fouled spark plug which had accumulate some gunk and wasn't sparking properly no the front cylinder (put new plugs into both cylinders just in case).
The killswitch and side stand cut outs are the only issues with it now, i'll try find the wiring diagram online and trace and test the wires. Thanks guys! Dean |

Re: Final problems before she's on the road
Is there any chance it could be a blown fuse? both wires go straight to the fusebox.

Re: Final problems before she's on the road
Thanks, the side stand switch isn't the issue mechanically (Unless i'm really unlucky) i've already tried a different one which i bought on ebay and just plugged straight in to the original green plug under the tank to no success.
The right switchgear is a little bit bust up with a crack along the side but all other buttons are working to i've no idea why that one switch wouldn't work. I bought a new RH switch gear but it doesn't have the throttle cable casing so i've just stuck with the original one. Thanks though Will check the plug after uni tonight. As well as the fusebox and RH switch gear to check for broken wires inside it. Dean |

Re: Final problems before she's on the road
is your bike a sport (faired) or naked style SV?
with it being a K3 is it a very late curvy or an early pointy shaped SV? |
