Adjust throttle, less on/off switch like?
I'm new to biking but this is the third SV650 that I've ridden (and my own!).
The throttle is very switch like, on/off. As soon as I roll off the bike dives forward abit, there's no blending etc. Any tips on how to make less harsh? |

Re: Adjust throttle, less on/off switch like?
You didn't mention what year your bike is, I'm assuming a pointy but the year is important.
It may be that your TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) needs checking/setting: https://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=55459 The link shows the adjustment for an 03 I've not done it, hopefully someone that has (ie Bibio) will chime in. Once the TPS is set then, if no better, the throttle bodies may need balancing and if it's a twin spark plug head it needs the Suzuki (SDS?) tool or a dealer for that.

V-twins tend to have a lot of engine braking compared to IL4s of similar capacity, is this maybe what you are experiencing?

Re: Adjust throttle, less on/off switch like?
Definitely do the TPS adjustment as per Seeker's link. Mine (2015 SL2) was a complete pig on slow corners and small roundabouts until I did this. Now I can roll the throttle off to a neutral position rather than the light switch accelerate or brake it was before.

Re: Adjust throttle, less on/off switch like?
You should be able to modulate the throttle. If you need to gently slow to match traffic speed you should be able to ease off the throttle without it turning into engine braking. I've owned 2 curvies and now an 2016 AL7 and not had a problem with fine control on any of them.
