Default Will I have to cut my OE zorst off?

ok folks, was told something today to potentially make me cry, as some of you may have read im all for getting that mivv stubby can, however a guy in a garage i was chatting to told me the only way to get it on would be to cut thru the pipes as its all one piece from the end can down to just past where the second bit comes in from the engine?! (sorry not all that up on the right words!!, oh yeah, its a K5s if it helps?) is this true? dont want to go hacking bloody great lumps out if i can help it?

cheers folks

If you want to fit an end can, then yes you have to cut the pipework.

The SV has a slip-on exhaust system. Unfortunately that doesn't mean you can just slip the old one off, like fizz said, it needs to be cut.

It is a little worrying, but there's plenty of information on here as to how to do it.

Of course you could always splash out for a full system to replace the whole lot, expensive way of avoiding cutting though

Or buy an OEM system cheap off of Ebay and cut that...

don't worry about it - its not as bad as it sounds.

Use a junior hacksaw - you'll need a few spare blades. It took me about half an hour - but thats better than rushing it with a grinder and knackering your bike.

Make sure u protect the swingarm and heel plates etc. I took my heel plates off and used a big slab of card between the zorst and the swingarm to protect everything else.

be sure to post some pics when you've got it done.
