Re: Chain and sprockets
Should replace sprockets at same time definitely. When I do mine I'm going to go one tooth down on front sprocket for acceleration.

Re: Chain and sprockets
I dont believe it affects the speedo, as it's seperate from how the SV measures its speed. Think it measures rotations of the front wheel or something?
I've read Tsubaki chain and Renthal sprockets is a good combo. But I'm someone wiser will come along, I'm curious to hear some opinions myself! Little bit of reading here: http://www.2wheeltuesday.com/2009/10...tsubaki-chain/ Last edited by clydeflouride; 12-02-15 at 11:51 AM. |

Re: Chain and sprockets
Which model of SV do you have? My pointy measures speed with a spinning magnetic field on the wheel, so was not affected by a sprocket change.
When I changed my chain, I used a DID chain and sprocket set from a e-Bay, the whole lot cost about £150 at the time, but I did go for the best I could afford. Top tip though, a chain oiler maintains your chain and allows for greater distances between changes. I use a Tutoro Auto which is a simple and and elegant design, but other types are available. |

Re: Chain and sprockets
I've gone for a 520 - 15/46 sprockets with a renthal rr4 chain. Not to hard to fit but need a tool
Cost with tool in total was about £220 |
