Re: ignition advancer
Ignition advancer and TRE are 2 different things... I quite like the ignition advancer mod with a stock engine, it's got a nice effect on drivability. It's not quite easy to do, but it's DIYable if you've got a bit of experience. And it's quite cheap

Re: ignition advancer
using the ignition advancer key in conjunction with higher octain fuel will give you a healthy increase in tourque across the whole rev range, more so at the bottom end, this is a simple way of making use of the extra octain fuel.
the wire cutting mod will advance the ignition and slighty increase tourque in sencond and third gear to match the other gears. the reason its only second and third gear is due to curent regulations for sound levels, the sound test manufactures have to pass is driving the bike past a microphone at full wack in second and third gear, so mr suzuki simply retarded the ignition in second and third to pass the test, its the same case with most bikes. none of the above mods will give massive power increases, theres a good chance youll hardly notice them, but i say every little counts |

Re: ignition advancer
So has anybody done a test on a dyno to see how much more power there is in 4th gear compared with 3rd/2nd?
