random Mitsubishi Shogun question! What have I done!? - SV650.org

Hi guys,
Long time no post (I do still have both my SVs if it counts) but family has sidelined the racing.
I went to do something simple on my Shogun this morning and just wanted to change the oil. Stupid me didn't watch a video first, i just ploughed on.
Anyway, instead of the normal drain plug I also ended up removing this 24mm bolt on the underside. Oil came out as expected but it was only when it wasn't draining from the engine that I discovered my error!
What have I removed? I think it's from the transfer box but I want to be sure before I try and refill it!

Is the Shogun the same as the Pajero? This video for the Pajero says it's the differential:

It was indeed the diff. Filled it this afternoon and did a test drive. All good.
