I'm pretty sure most people work with computers, I'm talking about those of us who are in support, development, training and (I include this reluctantly) sales.

I didn't realise our IT Sales people actually new anything about IT
It depends if they find a magazine laying arround and they read it!

I am a project manager within my companies IT Dept.

Although these days they tend to leave me alone to hack code and only want me when they have a difficult job.

21 years with the same employer. (Is that a record for someone in the IT industry these days), starting programming in APL 1978, Fortran 1979, Basic 1980, Pascal 1981.

Then moved onto real time systems and got into macro assemblers. Moved onto Vax macro32 1984 and then got into networking, from there systems management and into SunOS/Solaris and the C language plus Oracle RDBMS forms etc. From there into management

Now I just hack Java, servlets a speciality, J2EE and struts, tomcat, websphere etc.

I am lucky, I have had the opportunity to work in some interesting places including China, Taiwan, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Dubai. But had 3 years of travelling to Paris 2 times a week which was a real killer.

Fraid not. I dont deal with RR much at all apart from one service that authenticates through a portal of theirs. We're just owned by them
