It sounds like you have gone off cleaning and commuting.

I just keep the right bits lubed, tyres correctly inflated, and ride the bike. If you using it to commute it might feel like a chore - remember why you bought the bike in the first place. If it was to have some fun on then have some.

I know what you mean, I really enjoy this aspect of motorcycling. (cleaning, adjustering, lubing, tinkering etc).

Maybe I just like hanging out in my garage and getting grubby

Washed my bike back in September, covered it in AC45 at Northwind's suggestion, have let the mud pile on since then. I know that my bike is still there under all that muck and the muck won't be doing much harm. I wipe the lights from time to time, check the tyre pressure and top up the scottoiler when needed. Seems ok. I suppose I should clean the mud off my number plate but have't got round to that yet

I ride it to work everyday and I'm out in the countryside so the bike gets covered in a few minutes, I'd lose my mind if I tried to keep the thing clean. I wouldn't bother if I were you....

Erm, corrosion is a good reason to clean it.
