I may have to break the pledge. An XE-1 has popped up for a fiver spares or repairs. They seem quite rare so might grab it. He also has a black XE-5 too.

My XE-5 arrived today, listed as having a loose winder. Quick examination turns up some missing parts under the lever and retainer. I've fished some spares out of my odd box and its all tight again but still have an issue. The wind lever is sticking and I have to jiggle it to get it to advance and at the end of the stroke I have to jiggle it again to catch.

The obvious suggestion but maybe the base plate needs removing. Have a look at the mechanism down there to check nothing is catching. It might need cleaning or a little lubrication. (that did the trick when my SRT 201 shutter locked)

I've had the bottom plate off and all looked ok, but it was only a brief look. Something appealing about the chunkiness of the XE range.

Agreed. A nice solid lump of a camera. How many have you got now, and was it the black XE 5 you got.
BTW, my 35RC sold for a 3 figure sum.

Nah, it was a chrome one. I forgot to bid on the black one. Still keeping up with no cameras so far this year. Nice one on the RC, good to see camera prices still rising.

I think I'll try to sell more than I buy this year.
I also sold my Panasonic 40-150 M43 lens to offset the cost of the 35-100. I've lost a bit of range but looking through the lens, there wasn't that much difference between 100 and 150 and checking some of the photos I've taken, I didn't use it much beyond 120 anyway and the IQ at full zoom wasn't great.
I'm lusting after the Olympus 12-40 pro. Might save up for a used one of those.

I'm lusting over lots of year at the moment, but as of day 11 of 2020 my resolve had held. Got a cold at the moment which is annoying.

Being tested tonight. Minolta XD-7 with 50mm f1.7 has popped up on FB Marketplace for £20, an I'm trying so hard to ignore it.

If you haven't got one, it's worth forgetting resolutions and selling something else to balance things out.
