Minolta did make lovely cameras ... and lenses too. I might have to ditch 2 or 3 of these though and put the money into something else. Still thinking about a Fed 2 or a Kiev, just for the hell of it.

I could always loan you a Kiev 4 AM? The shutter blinds got a bit bent out of shape but they straightened out ok. Then you could buy one if you like it?

I might take you up on that sometime although God knows how long it would take to put a film through it.
I'm still thinking of it as a kind of marker. I hit 60 last week so I'd be after a 1958 model in about as good a physical condition as me.
I used your spreadsheet categories as a base to get started, added a couple of things to it and kept lenses separate. It'll take a while ....

I think the one I have is a 1975, I think I have a couple of the a models with the meter. But I much prefer the meterless am models.

Yeah, agree with you on that, The ones with the meter look a bit boxy and chunky.

Meterless do look nicer. The earlier one you can get the better, daft though it sounds, as they were said to be better made.
Yes admin the GAS did bite, but after buying a few poor choices I managed to rein it in and both be a bit more selective, and be prepared to put a bit more money into each - not that it always paid off, but had those ones worked they would be better cameras.
Yoko - I find in SLR I mainly stick with 28mm, 50mm and 135mm. 28 can be a bit wide so am thinking of trying 35 as my 28s aren't very good unless stopped right down. I also have a 450mm tele bought for track days but it's hard to use, max f8 and definitely needs a tripod all the time.

I wish you hadn't said that Johnny, you got me looking on ebay for Minolta/Rokkor wide angles. I don't have anything lower than 45mm in MD fit. Apart from zooms that is. For some reason, I've always preferred zooms to primes; flexibility over IQ perhaps but I've tried to be selective and go for the better regarded ones such as the Minolta 35-70 f3.5 (Leica collaboration) or the 28-85 f3.5-4.5. (I blame WYC. They are too close, quite often cheaper than ebay and you can see what you are getting.) Maybe I should sell all the branded lenses and get a range of good Tamron Adaptalls instead.
My catalogue so far is 22 cameras and 33 lenses. 3 more boxes to go.

I'm kind of the other way around, I prefer primes to zooms. While I do have a few I tend to use the primes more. Got a film to go in to Boots this morning so I will be digging the SV out to save on parking. I do have a 28mm f2.5 AD2 lens, its currently sitting on the X500 as I don't have a Minolta prime for it. Not shot with it yet so no idea on performance. As you can tell from my sheet, I'm pretty heavy on Olympus and older Kodaks.

I've bought another Pentax 110. It comes with the later flash and the 18mm lens. I'll keep the 18mm and seek it on.
